


Arlene Muller is a New York-born cinematographer who seeks to push the boundaries of conventional filmmaking and embrace experimentation. She just finished production on SOUVENIR, a New York comedy-drama starring Eric Berryman and Ruby Cruz and directed by David Ketterer Spencer. Earlier this year her feature RIDE OR DIE (dir. Josalynn Smith) had its Tribeca premiere. In late 2024 she shot her first feature film outside the United States, METEORITO, directed by Sebastian Múnera and shot in Honda and Doradal, Colombia.
Her feature STRESS POSITIONS was produced by Neon and had its premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. In 2022, she shot two Critic’s Choice-nominated comedy specials, A24/Peacock’s WOULD IT KILL YOU TO LAUGH? and Netflix’s JOEL KIM BOOSTER: PSYCHOSEXUAL. The same year, her episodic pilot, MY TRIP TO SPAIN (dir. Theda Hammel) screened at the Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals alongside two other shorts, YOU'VE NEVER BEEN COMPLETELY HONEST (dir. Joey Izzo) and TRAINING WHEELS (dir. Alison Rich).
Arlene’s credits also include NASIR (2020, dir. Jackson Kroopf), which won the Doc NYC Grand Jury Prize and screened at the BFI Film Festival and LA Times Short Docs; and HELLO AHMA (2019, dir. Siyou Tan), featured at the Berlin, Toronto, and Singapore International Film Festivals and at AFI Fest. Additional highlights include: Rolling Stone x Noah Cyrus (2023, performance), Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour Vinyl Promo (2021) and Coherence (2012, feature Film). Her feature ALMOST HOME, filmed in Los Angeles, was nominated for best cinematography at the Woodstock Fiim Festival by a jury including Ellen Kuras, ASC. She has lensed commercial projects for Shisedo, Vogue, UGG, and Salesforce.
Arlene holds an MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute and a BA from the National Film School of Poland in Lodz. She is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG) and speaks fluent Spanish, Polish and French.
